Corrosion and scale debris in the system are the most common source of problems with a boiler and heating system. You may notice cold spots at the bottom of your radiators, a noisy pump, or boiler, or just that the whole system is not heating the house as it used to anymore.

As you can see from the picture above it is not unusual for a radiator with several years service to have a significant level of debris present. This debris will prevent the radiator warming the room. The image was taken with a special infra red camera which shows heat output across the radiator.

The image on the right was taken after the heating system had been jet flushed with a Sentinel cleaning product. The sludge was removed and the system restored.

It is accepted amongst manufacturers and professional installers of the need to ensure correct installation, commissioning and servicing of central heating systems.

The need to flush systems to remove sludge and installation debris prior to installing a new boiler is a major part of the Benchmark process. There is even a British Standard BS7593, which gives the relevant code of practice and the latest Building Regulations require flushing and treating of all new boiler and system installations.
